Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp cherry brandy (optional)
  • 1 French baguette, cut into cubes

Instructions

1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic clove. 2. Pour the wine and lemon juice into the pot and heat until simmering. 3. In a bowl, toss the shredded cheeses with cornstarch. 4. Gradually stir in the cheese mixture into the pot, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. 5. Stir in the cherry brandy if using. 6. Serve with cubes of French baguette for dipping.
