Ingredients

  • 1 whole duck
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Thinly sliced cucumbers, scallions, and pancakes for serving

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). 2. In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, vinegar, Chinese five spice powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. 3. Place duck on a rack in a roasting pan and brush both sides with the sauce. 4. Roast duck in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes. 5. Remove duck from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. 6. Serve the duck with the thin cucumbers, scallions, pancakes, and extra sauce on the side.
