Peking duck
Ingredients
- 1 whole duck
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp five-spice powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece of ginger, minced
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. 2. Clean the duck and pat dry. 3. In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, salt, garlic, ginger, green onion, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. 4. Rub the mixture all over the duck, making sure to coat it evenly. 5. Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan. 6. Roast in the oven for 2-3 hours, until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender. 7. Serve hot with steamed pancakes, sliced cucumbers, and hoisin sauce.
