Ingredients

  • 2 cups pre-cooked white corn flour (masarepa)
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix the white corn flour with the warm water and salt until a dough forms. 2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into rounds. 3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the arepas for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. 4. Cut the arepas in half and fill them with shredded mozzarella cheese. 5. Top with butter before serving.
