Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/4 cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, raisins)
  • 1/4 tsp saffron strands
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp rose water
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

1. Wash the rice and soak in water for 30 minutes. 2. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. 3. Add the soaked rice and cook until almost done. Drain and set aside. 4. In a separate pan, heat ghee and fry the mixed nuts until golden brown. 5. Add sugar, saffron strands, and cardamom powder to the pan with the nuts. Stir well. 6. Add the cooked rice to the pan and mix everything together. 7. Cover and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes. 8. Add rose water and mix well. 9. Serve hot or cold.
